Grand Iftar Dinner

About 150 students, families and neighbors filled the Dee Stadium Ballroom in Houghton to break the fast together at our annual Grand Iftar.

In past years the Grand Iftar was held on campus in the Memorial Union Building. This Ramadan it moved to the Dee Stadium Ballroom, where round and long tables were dressed in blue tablecloths printed with stars and crescent moons.

Guests were seated from 7:30 PM, and the MSA board opened the evening with welcome remarks and a short presentation. Just as the sun went down, the adhan called everyone to the Maghrib prayer. Then students, families and guests of all ages ate together, and nobody left hungry.

Thank you to the Michigan Tech Parents Fund, the Undergraduate Student Government, the Michigan Tech Cultural Events Fund and LIFE USA for their support, and to everyone who cooked, served, set up and came. Everyone is welcome at MSA.
